Renowned panel to select winners in industry’s most prestigious design competition. Hospitality Media Group (HMG) has unveiled the prestigious judging panel for this year’s Gold Key Awards for Excellence in Hospitality Design. These thought leaders in design, operations, development and investment sectors of the hospitality industry will determine the competition’s winners and finalists in 18 categories. Now in its 35th year, the International Hotel, Motel + Restaurant Show’s (IHMRS’s) Gold Key awards recognize the most influential and innovative design work in hospitality.
Serving as judges for the 2015 Gold Key awards will be:
*Stacey Greene, vice president, design and construction, Chesapeake Lodging Trust
*Kemper Hyers, senior vice president, design, Starwood Capital Group
*Ted Jacobs, vice president of global design, Starwood Hotels & Resorts
*Raul Leal, ceo, Virgin Hotels
*John McMullen, senior vice president of construction, Highgate Hotels
*Christine Shanahan, managing director of design, HVS Design
*Erik Warner, co-founder, Eagle Point Hotel Partners
“This year’s judging panel brings together visionaries from all sectors of the hospitality design community,” says Michelle Finn, president of HMG, which manages both Boutique Design New York (BDNY) and IHMRS. “They have been the drivers behind the changes in hotel design and the game changers who will influence what happens next. We are thrilled to have such renowned experts selecting the 2015 Gold Key honorees,”
“This year’s judges come from a range of companies that reflect the new landscape of the hotel industry,” adds Mary Scoviak, executive editor of Boutique Design and conference director for HMG. “They bring a fresh perspective on what will be important in design going forward.”
Hospitality designers from around the world are invited to submit their best work in this year’s competition. The deadline for entries is May 29.
Finalists will be announced in August and winners will be revealed in November at the Gold Key Awards Gala cocktail reception and dinner, Monday, Nov. 9, at the Waldorf Astoria in New York. The Designer of the Year will also honored at this special event, which is held in conjunction withBoutique Design New York and IHMRS.
Gold Key award honorees are also profiled in the sponsoring magazine, Boutique Design, and featured on bdny.com.
