North America’s largest annual hospitality industry gathering – the International Hotel, Motel + Restaurant Show® (IHMRS) – is pleased to announce that Anthony G. Mangano, CHA, will serve as Chairman of the Board for this year’s 100th anniversary event, scheduled to take place Saturday, November 7, through Tuesday, November 10, 2015, at New York City’s Jacob K. Javits Convention Center.
A 30-year veteran of the hospitality industry, Mr. Mangano is currently President and majority shareholder of Syramada Hotel Corporation in Syracuse, NY, which owns and operates the Ramada Syracuse, a 150 room full-service hotel. He is also a partner in Homewood Suites, Hampton Inn and Super 8 Motel, all in Liverpool, NY, and the Hampton Inn and Comfort Inn & Suites in Watertown, NY.
Mangano also served in several positions and committees of the Ramada Inns International Association, including three terms as an elected Executive Committee member. Mangano recently served as Chairman of the New York State Hospitality & Tourism Association (NYSHTA), and has held several positions on industry-related boards and committees, including Vice Chair of the Oncenter Convention Center Complex in Syracuse, NY; President of the Greater Syracuse Hospitality & Tourism Association; and the President of the New York State Ramada Management Association. Mangano graduated from Rochester Institute of Technology in 1983 with a B.S. in Business Administration.
“Tony’s nine years of experience as a member of the IHMRS Board of Directors makes him the perfect candidate to lead the Show during this centennial celebration year,” said Phil Robinson, Group Show Director, Hospitality Media Group (HMG), which manages IHMRS.
IHMRS is also pleased to announce the addition of John Tsunis and Hervé Houdré to the nine-member Board of Directors. John C. Tsunis is Chairman and CEO of Long Island Hotels LLC and Chairman and CEO of Gold Coast Bank based on Long Island, NY. He received his law degree from Syracuse University College of Law in 1975 and graduated from New York University with honors in Banking and Finance. An attorney since 1977, Tsunis specializes in real estate, land use, commercial transactions and banking law, and is a partner in the law firm, Tsunis Gasaris Lustig & Ring and Kenney, LLP. He also serves as Chairman of NYSHTA.
Mr. Houdré is currently the Regional Director of Operations and General Manager of the InterContinental New York Barclay, beginning his tenure there in October 2009. He previously held the position of General Manager at the Willard Intercontinental Washington D.C. and is recognized for introducing refinements which impact profit and increase market share, being named 2006 Independent Hotelier of the World by HOTELS magazine readers. Houdré currently serves on the NYSHTA Board of Directors and on the Boards and Executive Committees of the Hotel Association New York City (HANYC) and of NYC & Company.

The 100th annual International Hotel, Motel + Restaurant Show will run Saturday, November 7, through Tuesday, November 10, 2015. Following a full-day of conference and networking activities on Saturday, November 7 at the Hospitality Leadership Forum, the IHMRS will feature three full days of exhibits from Sunday, November 8, through Tuesday, November 10. IHMRS is co-located with the 6th annual Boutique Design New York (BDNY), a trade fair for presenting manufacturers of furniture, lighting, wall coverings, fabric, seating, accessories, artwork, carpet and flooring, materials, bath and spa for hospitality on November 8 and 9. Collectively, the two shows will present 900 exhibitors and attract some 18,000 industry professionals.
