James Barbour, who currently stars in the title role of Broadway’s The Phantom of the Opera, will spend his night off November 27 at The Red Carpet Hospitality Gala in Manhattan, hosted by The Hotel Association of New York.
The hotel trade group will honor The Broadway League and its president, Charlotte St. Martin, at the annual celebration, being held at The Sheraton New York Times Square in midtown Manhattan. A portion of the proceeds from the gala will benefit the HANYC Scholarship Fund.
Barbour will perform the Andrew Lloyd Webber song “The Music of the Night.”
The event will begin at 6 PM and offer a cocktail reception, dinner, dancing, and the award presentation, with additional entertainment by Manhattan City Music.
Hotel Association President and CEO Vijay Dandapani said, “We are thrilled to shine a spotlight on Charlotte and The Broadway League, whose tireless efforts help to make New York City the entertainment capital of the world. We look forward to this extraordinary performance from The Phantom of the Opera, the longest-running show in Broadway history, which will be celebrating its unprecedented 30th anniversary in January.”
The Hotel Association of New York was founded in 1878, and represents 280 of the city’s inns.
