All of these sharing-economy services have the promise of subverting both of these problems, but in reality, they are only really good at doing what’s best for the customer when it’s best for their bottom line. Maybe it’s time for the brilliant minds that helped create the sharing economy to focus their brainpower on making the negative side of the equation less painful. The “fail fast!!” mantra makes sense in the pitch room, not so much in your living room….
