The legalization of Airbnb-style rentals continued to face stiff opposition Tuesday (June 14) as the City Planning Commission held a contentious three-hour public hearing. The commission delayed voting on the matter at the request of Mayor Mitch Landrieu but not before several members of the board expressed deep skepticism about the wisdom of allowing property owners to rent out entire dwellings in residential neighborhoods, especially with no clear enforcement mechanism in place….
