Marigny, Bywater and St. Roch residents are planning a demonstration at City Hall on Tuesday (Sept. 27) that they say will symbolize the death of New Orleans neighborhoods at the hands of people who rent out whole homes to tourists. The protest will include a funeral parade around City Hall starting at 10 a.m., and finishing with speakers at 10:30 a.m. who will speak about their support for regulations recommended by the city Planning Commission banning whole-home rentals in residential neighborhoods. The City Council has scheduled a vote on the regulations for Oct. 6….
