Chattanooga leaders are taking first steps to regulate Airbnb and other similar short-term vacation rentals. “We don’t want to make it cost prohibitive,” said John Bridger, executive director of the Chattanooga-Hamilton County Regional Planning Agency. “We want to appropriately regulate for what makes sense for where we are in the Chattanooga marketplace.” The agency has drafted a proposal—which is still being revised—that would require Airbnb operators to get a business license and special permit….
