Human Resources Directors Meeting -- hotel members only

We will be holding a Human Resources Director meeting on Monday, April 21st at 2:00 p.m. at the Park Central Hotel. The meeting will be held in the Manhattan Skyline Room.

We intend to focus on compliance with the Safe Hotels Act, aka the Hotel Licensing Bill, as this law is scheduled to go into effect on May 5, 2025. We will report on all aspects of the law including the licensing procedure, staffing and cleanliness requirements, direct employment, panic devices and recordkeeping in order to provide Hotels with clear guidance on compliance with the law. Representatives from the Association’s Safety and Security Committee will be present to address the human trafficking requirements of the law.

We will also report on recent activity by the Union, next year’s 2026 Industry Wide negotiations and important decisions from the Office of the Impartial Chairperson. We will focus on common issues that Hotels are facing with the Union, including requests by the Union for extra compensation, the Union’s insistence that Hotels negotiate with the Union over all changes in job duties and operations, including the introduction of technology and overtime issues.

Additionally, we will address recent developments in federal, state and local law.
