Oakland is conducting a survey on short-term residential rentals through Feb. 1. Oakland residents and homeowners are asked to complete the survey to provide feedback and insight. The rentals raise questions about their role in cities and neighborhoods and impact on available housing. To take the survey, go to https://survey.zohopublic.com/zs/ZkCuQ2. Oakland does not have any regulations specifically addressing short-term residential rentals. The short-term rentals have become popular because of websites such as Airbnb, FlipKey and VRBO. City planners will use survey results as they draft possible regulations for the rentals.
