While traditional Albany heavywights face off with Airbnb over a state bill to ban some home-renting ads, a small pack of left-wing Brooklyn millennials energized by the Bernie Sanders campaign has hit the street against the tech giant. A dozen volunteers have been canvassing, handing out leaflets and chalking up sidewalks in opposition to the company, which they say displaces city residents and uses up affordable housing. “I just want to emphasize that no one put us up to this, we just hate Airbnb,” said Rachel Eve Stein, part of a Gowanus activist group born out of the Sanders campaign. “And we’re concerned citizens in the neighborhood.”…
