The city of Austin’s code department is gearing up to crack down on illegal short term rentals during South by Southwest. The code department started public outreach Tuesday targeting short term rental operators, renters and neighbors. In a memo it says these messages will include “information on how to obtain an operating license, the requirements for legal operation, and how to report nuisances when they occur.”…
