Metro Government’s defense of the city’s laws on short-term rental properties like Airbnbs could cost, according to estimates, just under $180,000. More than half of that purse will pay attorneys’ fees in a civil case after a judge said in October the laws were void because they were too vague to be enforced. Though he later clarified the ruling to limit it to just one couple,Davidson County Circuit Judge Kelvin Jones last week ordered the city to pay The Beacon Center of Tennessee $104,000. Because of the court victory, the center had asked the judge to order Metro to pay more than $140,000 to cover its costs, court records show…
