Please join us in welcoming Sam Ioannidis as the new Managing Director of The Plaza, New York and Accor’s representative on HANYC’s Board of Directors. Sam brings over two decades of global luxury hospitality experience to his role. Prior to joining the Fairmont family, Sam served as General Manager of Four Seasons Hotel Montreal, where he led the property through a successful post-pandemic repositioning, achieving significant growth in revenue and guest satisfaction, and earning accolades from Condé Nast and Travel + Leisure. 

Throughout his career with Four Seasons, Sam held leadership roles across the United States, Europe, and the Middle East, including pre-opening and repositioning assignments at flagship properties in Abu Dhabi, Athens, Sharm El Sheikh, and Baku. His expertise spans operational excellence, strategic commercial development, and cultivating strong ownership and community relationships. 

Sam began his career in Food & Beverage and rose through the ranks to become a trusted leader known for driving innovation, building high-performing teams, and delivering exceptional guest experiences. He is a graduate of Ryerson University in Toronto and has also served as an adjunct professor in hospitality at NYU. 

As HANYC’s newest Board member, Sam brings a deep understanding of the luxury market and a collaborative spirit to support the continued growth and excellence of New York’s hospitality industry.
