HANYC was the presenting sponsor and Vijay was a featured panelist at the Haitian Times Leadership Breakfast at Brooklyn College. The invite-only attendee list was concentrated with elected officials including Assembly Member Phara Souffrant Forrest, Council Member Farrah Louis, Council Member Rita Joseph, Deputy Borough President Kim Council, and other Caribbean business and labor leaders. HANYC subsequently joined with Haitian leaders to strongly urge the federal government to reverse its decision on the revocation of TPS status for Haitian immigrants.
